Vector.Sqrt Method

Overload List

#SignatureDescription
1function Sqrt: TMtxVec;Square root.
└ indexed: function Sqrt(Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;
2function Sqrt(const X: TMtxVec): TMtxVec;Calculate the square root of all X object elements.
└ indexed: function Sqrt(const X: TMtxVec; XIndex: Integer; Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;

Overload 1: function Sqrt: TMtxVec;

Square root.

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Calculate the square root of all caling object elements in-place.

Examples
var a: Vector;
begin
    a.SetIt(False,[1,4,9,16]);
    a.Sqrt; // a= [1, 2, 3, 4]
end;
var
    a, expected: Vector;
begin
    a := [1.0, 4.0, 9.0, 16.0];
    a.Sqrt;
    expected := [1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0];
    if not a.IsEqual(expected, 1e-10, TCompare.cmpAbsolute) then
        raise Exception.Create('Vector.Sqrt: mismatch');
end;
See Also: Vector.Sqr

Indexed: function Sqrt(Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;

Calculate the square root of calling object elements [Index]...[Index+Len-1] in-place.

#NameTypeDescription
1IndexIntegerstart index
2LenIntegerelement count

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

An exception is raised if array borders are overrun.

Overload 2: function Sqrt(const X: TMtxVec): TMtxVec;

Calculate the square root of all X object elements.

#NameTypeDescription
1XTMtxVec

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Store the results in the calling object. Size and Vector.Complex properties of the calling object are adjusted automatically.

Examples
var
    a, x, expected: Vector;
begin
    x := [1.0, 4.0, 9.0, 16.0];
    a.Sqrt(x);
    expected := [1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0];
    if not a.IsEqual(expected, 1e-10, TCompare.cmpAbsolute) then
        raise Exception.Create('Vector.Sqrt: mismatch');
end;

Indexed: function Sqrt(const X: TMtxVec; XIndex: Integer; Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;

Calculate the square root of X object elements [XIndex]..[XIndex+Len-1].

#NameTypeDescription
1XTMtxVec
2XIndexIntegerX start index
3IndexIntegerstart index
4LenIntegerelement count

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

The results are stored in calling object elements [Index]..[Index+Len-1]. Size and Vector.Complex properties of calling object are not changed. An exception is raised if array borders are overrun.
