Matrix.Tan Method

Overload List

#SignatureDescription
1function Tan: TMtxVec;Tangens.
└ indexed: function Tan(Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;
2function Tan(const X: TMtxVec): TMtxVec;Calculate the tangens of all X object elements and store the results in the calling object.
└ indexed: function Tan(const X: TMtxVec; XIndex: Integer; Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;

Overload 1: function Tan: TMtxVec;

Tangens.

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Calculate the tangens of all caling object elements in-place.

Examples
var a: Matrix;
begin
    a.SetIt(1,2,True,[1,-2,3,4]);
    a.Tan; // Computes complex tangens
end;
var
    a, expected: Matrix;
begin
    a := [[0.0, 0.523598775598299], [0.785398163397448, 1.0471975511966]];
    a.Tan;
    expected := [[0.0, 0.577350269189626], [1.0, 1.73205080756888]];
    if not a.IsEqual(expected, 1e-10, TCompare.cmpAbsolute) then
        raise Exception.Create('Matrix.Tan: mismatch');
end;
See Also: Matrix.ArcTan, Matrix.ArcTan2

Indexed: function Tan(Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;

Calculate the tangens of calling object elements [Index]...[Index+Len-1] in-place.

#NameTypeDescription
1IndexIntegerstart index
2LenIntegerelement count

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

An exception is raised if array borders are overrun.

Overload 2: function Tan(const X: TMtxVec): TMtxVec;

Calculate the tangens of all X object elements and store the results in the calling object.

#NameTypeDescription
1XTMtxVec

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Size and Matrix.Complex properties of calling object are adjusted automatically.

Examples
var
    a, x, expected: Matrix;
begin
    x := [[0.0, 0.523598775598299], [0.785398163397448, 1.0471975511966]];
    a.Tan(x);
    expected := [[0.0, 0.577350269189626], [1.0, 1.73205080756888]];
    if not a.IsEqual(expected, 1e-10, TCompare.cmpAbsolute) then
        raise Exception.Create('Matrix.Tan: mismatch');
end;

Indexed: function Tan(const X: TMtxVec; XIndex: Integer; Index: Integer; Len: Integer): TMtxVec;

Calculate the tangens of X object elements [XIndex]...[XIndex+Len-1]. The results are stored in calling object elements [Index]...[Index+Len-1].

#NameTypeDescription
1XTMtxVec
2XIndexIntegerX start index
3IndexIntegerstart index
4LenIntegerelement count

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Size and Matrix.Complex properties of the calling object must be set explicitly. An exception is raised if array borders are overrun.
