Vector.Trunc Method

Overload List

#SignatureDescription
1TMtxVec TruncRounds a real number towards zero.
└ indexed: TMtxVec Trunc(Int32 Index, Int32 Len)
2TMtxVec Trunc(TMtxVec Src)Truncate all Src object elements and store the results in calling object elements.
└ indexed: TMtxVec Trunc(TMtxVec Src, Int32 SrcIndex, Int32 Index, Int32 Len)
3void Trunc(ref Int32[] Dst)Truncate all calling object elements and store the result in the Dst integer array.

Overload 1: TMtxVec Trunc

Rounds a real number towards zero.

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Rounds all calling object elements towards zero to an integer and stores the result in the calling object again as floating point numbers.

Examples
Vector a = new Vector();
a.SetIt(new double[] { 1.2, 2.7, -0.5, 3.9 });
a.Trunc();
Vector expected = new Vector();
expected.SetIt(new double[] { 1.0, 2.0, -0.0, 3.0 });
if (!a.IsEqual(expected, 1e-10, TCompare.cmpAbsolute))
    throw new Exception("Vector.Trunc: mismatch");
See Also: Vector.Frac, Vector.Round

Indexed: TMtxVec Trunc(Int32 Index, Int32 Len)

Truncate calling object elements [Index]..[Index+Len-1] in-place.

#NameTypeDescription
1IndexInt32start index
2LenInt32element count

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

An exception is raised if array borders are overrun/underrun.

Overload 2: TMtxVec Trunc(TMtxVec Src)

Truncate all Src object elements and store the results in calling object elements.

#NameTypeDescription
1SrcTMtxVecsource TVec or TMtx

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Size and Dew.Math.Vector.Complex property of calling object are adjusted automatically.

Examples
Vector a = new Vector();
a.SetIt(new double[] { 1.2, 2.7, -0.5, 3.9 });
a.Trunc();
Vector expected = new Vector();
expected.SetIt(new double[] { 1.0, 2.0, -0.0, 3.0 });
if (!a.IsEqual(expected, 1e-10, TCompare.cmpAbsolute))
    throw new Exception("Vector.Trunc: mismatch");

Indexed: TMtxVec Trunc(TMtxVec Src, Int32 SrcIndex, Int32 Index, Int32 Len)

Truncate Src object elements [SrcIndex]..[SrcIndex+Len-1] and store the results to calling object elemenents [Index]..[Index+Len-1].

#NameTypeDescription
1SrcTMtxVecsource TVec or TMtx
2SrcIndexInt32source start index
3IndexInt32start index
4LenInt32element count

Result: stored in self (calling object), returns self for chaining

Remarks:

Size and Dew.Math.Vector.Complex property of calling object must be set explicitly to match those of Src object. An exception is raised if array borders are overrun/underrun.

Overload 3: void Trunc(ref Int32[] Dst)

Truncate all calling object elements and store the result in the Dst integer array.

#NameTypeDescription
1DstInt32[] (ref)

Result: stored in self (calling object)

Remarks:

Length of the array is automatically adjusted. If the calling object is Complex, the length of the Dst array is equal to 2*Dew.Math.Vector.Length.

Examples
Vector a = new Vector();
a.SetIt(new double[] { 1.2, 2.7, -0.5, 3.9 });
a.Trunc();
Vector expected = new Vector();
expected.SetIt(new double[] { 1.0, 2.0, -0.0, 3.0 });
if (!a.IsEqual(expected, 1e-10, TCompare.cmpAbsolute))
    throw new Exception("Vector.Trunc: mismatch");
